MARSALA

As you already know Marsala is Pantone’s color of the year for 2015. I have to admit that when I first heard this I was not impressed. It didn’t seem like a color with pizzaz, it looked flat and kind of rusty, (and not in a cool patina kind of way). But what I’m seeing now (and I love it) is the way that it’s being interpreted everywhere.

I must not have been the only one that was less than impressed with this color choice, but what I love about people is that when we don’t like something we often turn it into something we do like. Case in point Marsala.marsala-pantone_1

If you tweak it just a bit, darken it and push it more to the burgundy side, it’s a gorgeous, rich color with tons of pizzaz and inspiration to spare! So lets call this beautiful color marsala and use the heck out of it this year. Cause this is really pretty!marsala-inspiration

What do you think about this color? How about those bracelets in the first photo? Who wants to make some with me? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

None of the photos in this post are my own. I have tried to find the original source where possible. If one of these photos is yours and I have not given it proper credit please let me know. xoxo Cathy

  1. Hi Cathy,
Same story for me! Was not impressed by the color in the beginning. Now I have started seen it more and more, and I am getting used to it and even sometimes like it.
Speaking if the bracelets – they are awesome! yes, let’s make some together :)

    • Hi Nadya,
Thanks, I’m glad I’m not the only one it’s slowly growing on. ;)
And I’m working on those bracelet ideas too!
      xoxo
      Cathy
