step 3
When the straps are completely wrapped, set your brass ring on top of your filp flop to determine the placement.

Use a very small amount of hot glue to glue the ring to the straps on your flip flop.

I glued mine in three places; on the bottom at the center of the strap and on each side.Green and Gold DIY Flip Flops Adding Gold Ring

Using your ribbon wrap around the strap on your flip flop and the ring, just wrap at the points where you glued the ring to your straps.Green and Gold DIY Flip Flops FinishedGreen and Gold DIY Flip Flops Finished PhotoGreen and Gold DIY Flip Flops Photo 2Green and Gold DIY Flip Flops Photo 3

Summer is here and we all could use some cool and comfortable footwear. The geometric shape of the brass ring and the bright green ribbon make these filp flops chic enough to wear with a cute summer dress or with your bikini to the beach. Its so easy to embellish these flip flops and make some great new sandals for less than $7.

Old Navy has flip flops two pair for $5 so you can make two or one for you and one for a friend! This past Saturday they actually had their $1 flip flop sale, which explains the line around the store and down the block that I saw here in Brooklyn. But at $5 for two pair it’s still a great price (without the line)!

I guess I must really love flip flops since I made these and these last year and I have another pair just waiting for embellishment to share with you!

Leave me a comment and let me know how yours turn out!
