Over the Christmas and New Year holidays I was lucky enough to be on the beautiful beach in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico with my family.
We all need to get away once in awhile and if you ever get the chance to go I highly recommend the Mayan Riviera. We stayed in Playa Del Carmen and it was beautiful, however if you’re looking to really get away, I recommend Tulum. I seriously fell in love with Tulum, I will be going back as soon as I can.

Here’s the requisite photo from the plane flying into Cancun.
A road side stand for coco’s. I wish I could have fresh coconuts everyday!
On our way to Chichen Itza.
The large pyramid at Chichen Itza.
We actually rode in this truck to get to the Cenotes (water caves) to go snorkeling.
This is the mouth of the cave, yes we really did go in there.
There were tons of these little (big) guys all over.
In Tulum we checked out the Papaya Playa Project, and it was amazing! The beach was beautiful and the setting was perfect.
The view from our table.
The full moon over the beach in Tulum.
This mirrored sculpture was up in a tree on a street in Playa Del Carmen.
I love checking out the local crafts and artisans.
Our hotel was just down the street from a cigar maker.
Mojitos at Bodeguita Del Medio, it’s a Cuban restaurant/bar with great live latin jazz music.
So now you know what I was doing over the holidays when I wasn’t posting or doing DIY’s. It’s always great to take some time to recharge your energy and clear your head. I literally had no internet for 11 days, it took some getting used to but after awhile you realize how nice it can be to disconnect.
So now I’m back to reality, thank you for looking at my photos and checking out my blog. It’s a new year and back to work and DIYing. I have some great DIY’s lined up so stay tuned.
xoxo
