About Trinkets in Bloom

Hi, I’m Cathy Attix and welcome to Trinkets in Bloom!

Trinkets in Bloom started in 2012 as a way to share some fun projects. I have to admit I had no idea how to run a blog when I began, I just wanted to have fun and share some of the cool stuff I was making.

Fast forward 4 years, I’m still at it and I’ve learned a lot, not just about blogging, but I’m always looking to learn new techniques and skills.

If you’re new to Trinkets in Bloom what you’ll find here is a lot of fun DIY projects for; apparel, jewelry, accessories, shoes, and a whole lot more.

I love to find simple solutions for making things, but yet it’s really important to me that what you make won’t fall apart. I’ve been sewing and creating for a long time and my goal is to share functional, workable solutions for you to be able to easily create your own style.

What you will find on TIB are:
Fun fashionable DIY projects that are doable for most any skill level. I want to show you that draping a simple skirt is something that you don’t need a degree to know how to do.

That making your own cool jewelry like you see in magazines is possible and for a lot less money.

I LOVE this Stella McCartney inspired necklace and it was way easier to make than you’d think! Here are some other faves of mine, like this spiked chain necklace, this large chain and pearl necklace, and of course this wire wrapped stone necklace!TIB-wired-pearl-necklace_99_9
You can create your own “it” bag and make your own style trends. Some of the most popular bags on TIB are this faux fur clutch, or this scarf bag, or this minaudiere with horse!DIY Faux Fur Clutch by Trinkets in Bloom

What about a hat? Gotta keep warm right?tib-beanie-with-veil_99_2

This lounge is perfect for a Netflix binge watch.

These flip flops are my most popular post of all time! I remember when I was making them wondering if anyone would like them!trinkets-in-bloom-diy-05282012_02

The very first DIY post I shared. This Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired sleep mask.BAT-sleep-mask

What you won’t find on TIB are:
A lot of cheap solutions, like hot glue being used for any clothing and no disposable fashion like paper glued to a t-shirt to create ruffles, or something crazy like that. I feel that if you go to the trouble of making something you should be able to wash it and wear it again.

I frequently partner with craft suppliers to show you only the products that I really love and use myself. If I don’t like something and I don’t use it myself I’m not going to share it with you. That just doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m so glad you took the time to learn more about me and Trinkets in Bloom.

I hope that you’ll take the time to look around TIB and find some fun projects that you want to make.
