Inspiration can come from anywhere and today it came from Archie McPhee.

Toys From Archie McFee

If you’re in the Seattle area this is a must see.

It’s a crazy store filled with any sort of gag gift, plastic animal, costumes and a very large selection of bacon flavored/scented everything. Who knew a little purple plastic Narwhal could make a girl so happy, (oh and my daughter loves her plastic animals too).
So I’m so excited, I found some great things and have projects in the works. Check back soon to see what I’m doing with my new Trinkets.

This weekend we had our first snowfall of the season in Seattle.

I’m always amazed at how snow falling can quiet a city. We have the most amazing park near our house, in less than five minutes we can feel like we’re in the middle of the woods. As we were taking these pics the snow started to fall more intensely with huge flakes, it was so beautiful.

Outside Frank Gehry Experience Music Project
Since moving to Seattle we’ve taken a lot of staycations, and we’re truly in a great city to do that. With family visiting from other countries it’s great to have fun local places to show them. This past weekend we walked to the Seattle Center and the Space Needle.

For these photos we were outside of the Experience Music Project designed by Frank Gehry.

I am a big fan of his work and this piece especially as it adds some much needed color to the Seattle Skyline. (And of course I’m posting only one picture in color, go figure!)

We spent this past Saturday exploring downtown Seattle and enjoying historic Pioneer Square. The rain was drizzling on and off for most of the day and the ground was a sea of gold with all the maple leaves that had fallen.

After living in Los Angeles for so long it’s really nice to have a change of seasons and a great excuse to wear cozy scarves and jackets.
