I also recommend making notches in the sides to fit your chain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong><br \/>\nLay your cut cookie box on top of your satin fabric and trace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong><br \/>\nCut out your satin fabric, be sure to leave at least a half inch extra to fold over. <em>Youll also want to miter your corners.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Step 4<\/strong><br \/>\nLaying your cookie box on top of your cut satin fabric; fold your edges over and glue. <em>I recommend using your paper glue for this.<br \/>\n<\/em><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2504\" title=\"DIY Lilly Pulitzer Cookie Box Minaudiere Project\" src=\"http:\/\/www.trinketsinbloom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/LP-minaudiere-2a.jpg\" alt=\"DIY Lilly Pulitzer Cookie Box Minaudiere Project\" width=\"630\" height=\"630\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.trinketsinbloom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/LP-minaudiere-2a.jpg 630w, https:\/\/www.trinketsinbloom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/LP-minaudiere-2a-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.trinketsinbloom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/LP-minaudiere-2a-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.trinketsinbloom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/LP-minaudiere-2a-450x450.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.trinketsinbloom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/LP-minaudiere-2a-180x180.jpg 180w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Step 5<\/strong><br \/>\nTake the box you will be using for the <strong>outside<\/strong> of your minaudiere and remove the string handle. Then using an x-acto knife make the hole large enough for your chain. <strong>Make your hole just big enough for your chain, you dont want your chain to slip out.<\/strong><br \/>\nInsert your cookie box that is covered in satin inside your 2nd cookie box.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6<\/strong><br \/>\nUsing your paper glue, glue your satin wrapped box inside your exterior box.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 7<\/strong><br \/>\nFollowing steps 1 thru 4 make a covered top for the lid of your minaudiere. The Mod Podge dried very quickly while I was adding the stones, so you may need to add more as you go.<br \/>\n<em>Cover the entire exterior of your cookie box with Mod Podge, this will help to make it more stable and a little more water resistant. Their prints are truly amazing and fun. The boxes really beg to be collectors items. This Lilly Pulitzer Cookie Box Minaudiere turned out just how I wanted and it feels even more sturdy than I expected. Doubling up the boxes and covering them with Mod Podge really makes the cookie boxes functional and the size is perfect, my IPhone fits like it was made for it! This Cookie Box Minaudiere is truly a found object DIY, I used a broken necklace for the chain and empty cookie boxes for the body.
