I love creating a fun Valentine’s Box! Ever since I was a kid it’s always been such fun to make a big colorful and fun box to hold valentines and of course candy! That’s why I’m so happy to be a part of Valentine’s Day with Plaid Crafts! I’ve created a fun version of a shopping bag for my Valentine’s Box, once you’ve collected all your Valentines it’s easy to carry home!
TOOLS & MATERIALS:
- Mod Podge
- Apple Barrel paints
- Cereal box
- Glitter
- Construction &/or glitter paper
- Yarn
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- Tissue paper
step 1
Cut the top off of your cereal box.
step 2
Using the Apple Barrel paint I covered the whole box with paint so that none of the cereal box would show through.
Let dry.
step 3
Mix up your Mod Podge and glitter, about a 50/50 mixture.
Paint this all over your cereal box.
Let dry.
step 4
If it’s not glittery enough you can paint a coat of straight Mod Podge and sprinkle glitter on top, for extra sparkle!
Let dry.
step 5
Using your hole punch make two holes on either side of your box for your handles.
step 6
Make a braid with your yarn about 9 to 12 inches long.
Tie knots in the ends of your braid and push them through the holes. If you need to you can make the knot bigger so it won’t slide out.
step 7
Create fun designs out of your construction paper &/or glitter paper to glue to the outside of the box.
step 8
Glue tissue paper around the top on the inside of the box.
