A journal is one of the best ways to keep track of your thoughts. This DIY journal will make your notes, journal entrys and to do lists much more fun!

I ALWAYS have a sketchbook or journal with me, you never know where inspiration will hit!

MAKE YOUR JOURNAL >

step 1
If you are using paint I recommend you pour a small amount out on to a plate to use as a palette while you are stamping.

Practice stamping on scrap paper, this will help you to decide where you want your design and how much paint you want on your stamp.

I used a potato masher and the end of a pencil as my stamps for this project.

There are so many great things you can use for a stamp, many of which you may have lying around your house. This is a great way to get creative without spending much.

Once you know how you want your pattern to look, go ahead and stamp the cover of your journal.DIY Journal Stamping

step 3
Now youre ready to tape. You can run your tape diagonal across your journal or down the spine, wherever you want!

I dont always keep a journal or write consistently, but I ALWAYS have a sketchbook/journal with me, for jotting down notes and ideas. Im still really old school when it comes to notes and to do lists. Ive tried all sorts of lists on my iphone, but theres something so wonderful about writing things down by hand and especially crossing things OFF your list as they are done!

I got the idea for this DIY Journal from both Martha Stewart and Design Love Fest (which is a great blog btw if you havent already checked it out I highly recommend it, its one of the blogs I go to when I need inspiration).
