We are hosting a Cinderella Ballerina Ball -for 40 seriously little girls on July 18, 2016. We have ordered Cluny 4″ lace to make them each a crown. This is great to find the natural stiffner with their health needs. Any guidance you can give would be greatly appreciated. A glimpse of our 2015 event on this link. http://play.smilebox.com/SpreadMoreHappy/4e4451794e4449354f44413d0d0a . We look forward to hearing from you. Blessings, Mrs. C.

My older cousins we crochet doilies/doll dresses/booties for souvenirs’ at a baby shower among other items and make this sugar mixture . I just finished crocheting a Tiara for my grand daughter’s 3rd birthday and have been wondering how to make it stiff. Now I know but it may be too late since I used worsted yarn. Do you think I still can? Thank you so very much for the memories ! Ev

Hi Jill,
Yes, you could use another type of starch. I used the sugar starch because I wanted to make my own and also to see how it worked. As far as it holding it’s shape, it does hold very well. My daughter played with it and wore it a lot and I was really surprised at how well it held up. I don’t know about stepping on it, but there were times she put it in the toy box or a bag and it still looked like a tiara when it came out.
Thanks!
xoxo
