I’m so excited to share with you today this awesome book DIY DYE Bright and Funky Temporary Hair Coloring you do at Home. AND we’re giving away 2 copies!
If you’re looking to create some diy hair dye and you’re not sure where to start or what’s the best method, this is the book for you. The author Loren Lankford has really done her homework. She covers most every type of dying, preparing to dye, what to expect from different colors and a whole lot more. She answered questions I didn’t even know I had about hair dying.
It’s really fascinating how many different ways there are to dye your hair. This book covers all methods from natural dyes like henna, lemons and cinnamon for highlights to using kool-aid and chalk and even tips for using store bought dyes like manic panic.
There are a lot of products out there now; hair chalks, sprays, pastes, this book also shows you how to use these products for optimal color and how to make the color last. There’s even a recipe to make your own hairspray and glitter hair gel. I can’t wait to make these!
If you’ve ever wanted to dye your hair yourself, or even if you already do, this book has some really great tips and tutorials to walk you through most any technique you want to try.
I’ve been dyeing my hair for longer than I can remember, I’ve tried henna, manic panic (I had a pink phase) and of course bleaching. (Oh, don’t look so surprised!) This book is really helpful, like that friend who’s already tried it all so she can help you avoid mistakes. I wish I would’ve had this book in my 20’s, I probably would’ve tried a lot more colors.
While this book covers mostly bright colorful hair dyeing, it also has some great tips and techniques for bleaching, highlights and creating that cool ombre effect.
To win – leave me a comment and tell me what color you’ve always wanted to try. The contest will be open until thursday March 27th at midnight EST.

I’d like to try either lavender, or maybe some maroon or teal streaks. Fun! :)
why now in your website there’s a lot of annoying ads?
I really want to try teal or purple. I’m like you… I wish I had this when I was in my 20’s, but I’m still itching to color my hair some funky, fabulous color!
I’ve always coveted people with royal blue hair; it’s a must try on my list.
Great giveaway interesting and creative! ;-) <3
I would like to dye my hair purple. I have black hair so a few purple highlights would be cool.
Bright red!
I haven’t been able to dye my hair because of it getting treated, but now that I am growing it out and getting my “original” hair back, I have always wanted to see what purple or blue would look in my hair. I have thought about using the chalk in my hair, but I never had the chance to actually purchase it. :) Love your DIY bracelets :D
I am not sure what color I would want but I do think different color might to be fun
I am not sure what color I would chose. I think it would be fun to switch up colors as times go by
my computer knocked me off and gave me an error and when I went back to redo the comment the site said my comment was not posted. So reposted and then the first comment showed up sometimes I just hate computers. That is why there are two comments
I have been dying my hair for years, and right now it is red. I would love to try a brighter more vibrant, crayon red.
Hi, I had red ombre twice and I liked it. I want to try purple color. Gaby
I would love to add some purple to my hair
