What youll need to make your Braided Hex Nut Bracelet:
- Hex Nuts (I used 18)
Cut 3 pieces of your string approximately 16 inches long (depending on the size of your wrist) and tie them together in a knot. I recommend taping the end to a table, this will make it much easier to work.
Braid for approximately 2 inches (mine is just under). Then start adding your hex nuts one at a time.
If you dont have an assistant to help you put the hex nuts on your string, I recommend setting your hex nuts on their end and you will be able to thread them easier and with one hand as you hold your braid tight with the other.
After you braid in all but one of your hex nuts continue to braid just the string for another 2 inches (approx). Then tie a knot to secure it.
Thread the two ends of your bracelet through your last hex nut in opposite directions and knot each end. This makes it easy to put your bracelet on or take it off by yourself.
This looks really cool! Great tutorial!
Hey! I love the bracelet. I was just wondering what kind of string you used? It looks a little thicker than normal bracelet making string.
I used Lilly yarn “sugar and cream” I wouldn’t really recommend it, it’s a little too soft. It worked fine, but I would recommend a regular string or something a little stiffer.
Queria saber si podias hacer algunas DIY ( pulseras ) en español, es dificil estar traduciendo todo . Muchas gracias! .
Its OK but I don’t understandnow how to put nuts on the bracelet. :/
You thread the hex nuts onto your yarn and as you braid you push them up one at a time into the braid. In the first photo on step 2 you can see the hex nut placement. I hope this helps.
I was wondering what size hex nuts you have used and where you purchase them.
I used size #10-32, the package calls them “machine screw nuts” and I bought them at The Home Depot. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-10-32-Brass-Machine-Screw-Nut-6-Piece-per-Pack-802081/204274129
I have a question, where did you buy the hex nuts ( gold ones), I’ve been trying to find them, haven’t found them yet, pls help :'(
Here’s a link to buy them online or Home Depot also has them in stores. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-10-32-Brass-Machine-Screw-Nut-6-Piece-per-Pack-802081/204274129
